The wonderful team at Negociants International do a great job of representing our wines in countries as far flung as the Philippines, Mongolia, The Netherlands, South Africa, and Mexico. You would think with all that travelling they might want to have a few quiet nights at home between sales visits, but somehow we managed to persuade them to spend their weekend with us at Nautilus Estate.
What a fun bunch!
After a trip through the vineyards with viticulturist Mike Collins talking about the detail behind growing serious quality grape vines, they joined us for lunch at our friendly “staff canteen” (AKA Wairau River Cellar door!), before settling down to some serious tasting with a sauvignon blanc and pinot noir masterclass.
On Sunday, after a winery tour and tastings from tank and barrel, they joined us out in the fantastic Marlborough Sounds to experience our Opawa and Twin Islands wines “in their natural habitat”. A beautiful afternoon was crowned with a bush walk and fresh fish for supper at local supporter Le Cafe.
They even got the full shaky NZ experience with a pretty decent earthquake during dinner! Luckily no damage was done and very little beer/wine was spilled!
A great time was had by all, and more pictures from the trip are posted on the Nautilus Facebook page.
