In the run up to Christmas, everyone’s attention seems to turn to sparkling wines, and that is certainly the case at Nautilus, where our two sparkling wines, the Nautilus Cuvee Marlborough Brut NV and the Nautilus Vintage Rose are some of New Zealand’s best loved bubbles.
On Saturday 21st November, Nautilus was part of the Methode Marlborough “Evening of Vintages” – a 5 course dinner where each course was paired with two “Methode Marlborough” sparkling wines. The evening was a spectacular illustration of how well sparkling wines can match with food and also the diversity and quality of this style of wine. The photos below show what a glamorous event it was!
Nautilus bubbles have also been mentioned on Radio New Zealand a couple of times recently. First NZ’s only Master Sommelier, Cameron Douglas recommended Nautilus Vintage Rose, and then Jesse Mulligan and Yvonne Lorkin recommended Nautilus Cuvee. You can hear the interviews here:
Then to top it all off, Nautilus Cuvee won the Wineworks Ltd trophy at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards for the best sparkling wine in New Zealand! Judges described the wine as: “A brilliantly composed sparkling wine; the stunning bouquet shows fabulous aromas of stone fruit, macaroon and floral with beautifully infused yeasty notes. The palate delivers excellent focus and concentration, enhanced by creamy texture and perfectly pitched acidity. A magnificent wine of exquisite style and refinement.”
So if you are trying to decide what fizz to open on Christmas day (or Christmas Eve, or Boxing day, or…) grab yourself a bottle of Nautilus! You can’t go wrong.
